Accordions:

German, black 3-row Hohner Morino (1956)

Will took possession of this new Hohner "Shand Morino" in 1956. It has the Serial Number 744025 and was imported by Hohner from Germany to the UK on 10th December 1956.

He modified it to show his name at the front and on the grille of the treble reed cover. Hohner were unhappy about this modification and it is believed that they threatened a writ against Will. However, common sense prevailed, and the writ was not pursued.

This accordion was bought by Jim MacKay of Inverness and is still used in his Band.

Note:

Both of Will's black Hohner Morino accordions can be seen at the button-key 'Shand Morino Exhibition Day' held in Windygates, Fife at the end of January every year.
